P.I.L have supported BAM Nuttall Ltd for over 15+ years with assisting in Paint Inspection of steel structures both on-site for refurbishment projects and off-site at factory facilities for new works both here in the UK and overseas. Their proactive engagement with us pre-start, during and after the works has helped to streamline the quality we expect with accurate reporting issued in a timely manner.

The team at PIL are extremely knowledgeable and can be relied upon, not only to provide support and guidance, but to provide extremely detailed reports that are used by Taziker to report back to key clients on the remedial works required at each structure the survey. Taziker would highly recommend their services.

I couldn't fault the team, I see no obvious ways of improving the excellent service you already provide, thank you.

    Frequently Asked Questions

NACE Level 3 inspectors must have expert knowledge in all areas of coating inspection including: surface preparation, coating types, coating systems, paint systems, coating application, inspection criteria, lab testing, and failure modes for various coatings, including specialized coatings and linings. They are the best qualified inspectors for paint inspection, as they have a higher level of seniority than those at level 1 and 2.

We ensure all our Inspectors are fully compliant with industry standards such as ISO, SSPC, ASTM, and the Institute of Corrosion, and the range of specifications from NORSOK M501 to Highways Series 1900 / 5000, and CM431. This means we can help with all paint inspections for local authorities.

After conducting a thorough risk assessment, inspectors onsite examine samples for compliance with specifications by conducting visual and physical inspections for thickness, adhesion, chip resistance, edge coverage, rusting, emissions, and other properties. They will also check if the paint is high-quality, and keep a record of any further information that is needed.

Additionally, coating inspectors are responsible for updating records of all materials used in the coating process, including any protective coatings, and solvents, and keeping track of the progress of projects.
