Paint Inspections by NACE-approved Professionals

Any paint inspection we undertake will be carried out by a trained NACE paint inspector who has at least achieved lCorr and Level 2 qualifications. So that your project goes according to plan all our inspectors will be supervised by a NACE Level 3 inspector.

We have a large team of NACE 2 and ICorr 2 paint inspectors meaning we can easily work on a diverse range of projects. We can offer you a wide range of efficient and organised inspection services. Thanks to our attentive NACE 3 and lCorr 3 senior inspectors we can supervise coating condition surveys, coating applications, basic coating inspections, quality assurance, and paint sample testing.

NACE Coating Inspector Levels

Since its creation 30 years ago the NACE CIP has become the ultimate training curriculum for novice paint inspectors. The program has seen much success in producing over 26,000 certified paint professionals, a large majority of which are the best and brightest the coating inspection industry has to offer. 

The CIP program consists of three certification levels:

  • Level 1: The basic certification required to inspect coating applications in an industrial setting
  • Level 2: Entails passing an essential examination and specialising in one or more specific types of coating.  
  • Level 3: Passing this certification requires passing another comprehensive exam, testing your knowledge of all aspects of coating inspection. You must understand relevant codes, standards and coating specifications. 

What sets this level apart from the rest is the significant experience and mastery of workmanship quality control expected of students while they perform coating inspections.

Level 3 NACE Requirements

The NACE Institute clearly states a NACE Certified Coating Inspector – Level 3 is recognized as an advanced inspector who:

  • Has “expert knowledge” of corrosion, surface preparation, cleanliness, environmental conditions, test instruments, coating mixtures, and safety.
  • Can undertake unsupervised non-destructive and destructive inspections of liquid and non-liquid coatings applied to any substrate.
  • Has demonstrated technical knowledge, and problem-solving ability regarding issues that may arise on-site and are capable of supervising other coating inspectors.
